And the Oscar goes to…
Does it seem like I ripped that off from the cover? It can’t really be thievery when everyone knows it. The phrase is borderline cliche. I took the opportunity to pick up the LA times on Oscar Sunday so I could read up on the night’s events. There were some great articles about the composer and who they thought would win Best Picture. Adding to my reading was a great review about Stephen Fry’s memoirs which was quite enticing and may very well be the first autobiography I read. You’ll remember Fry from V for Vendetta, Bones, and Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows.
Anywho, I was satisfied with the winners of last nights Academy Awards. Everything seemed right with the broadcast ranging from the awkward red carpet encounters, overly enthusiastic fashionista hostesses and a musical number from the host. But it was nice to see The Artist take home the best actor, best score, costume design, best director and best picture awards. Tres chouette. And sadly I still have yet to see this marvelous (so I hear) film. With this past year’s award season complete, I now look forward to this year’s achievements in motion pictures.
