Rolling along with young Miles Morales’ exploits as the new unofficial Spiderman, Ultimate Comics Spiderman #5 pulls all the content from the previous issues and ties them together into a package that readers have been hoping for. After his run in with Spiderwoman, Miles is taken to the Ultimates headquarters where he is interrogated but reluctantly accepted into the fraternity of superheroes. The scene (despite how overly done it is) has Miles save the Ultimates from a newly escaped Electro. By using his invisibility and immense strength, Miles shows that he is both a courageous and capable hero despite his unimposing size and young age. Needless to say this is arguably the best issue thus far in the series. Our protaganist has been given full responsibility of his hero-dom (herohood? heroness?) and one cannot help but feel excited at the final words, “you are officially Spiderman”.
